About to head off for 6 months working abroad, I decide to enjoy the British countryside while I can. The weather has other plans of course!
Camping at Great Langdale Campsite, in the Lake District National Park:
We go for a short walk after we arrive, just to see a few nearby waterfalls:
The next day, and we cycle a roughly 20 mile round trip, on a mixture of track and road, to Lake Coniston:

Thank goodness we didn't take the route signed 'challenging'! |
|
My only bike trick... |
|
Coniston Water. 11 miles back to the campsite |
The final day, and the rainy misty weather doesn't feel suitable for the longer hikes we had hoped for. Instead we have to make do with a short hike from Lake Windemere:

Lake Windermere |

Countryside - enjoyed. Weather - not so much!
